It’s that time of year again…
The weather gets colder, the days get shorter and
for a working student like myself living a healthy lifestyle seems to go out
the window. Going to the gym seems to be an unrealistic option because your to
busy with exams or writing papers, and if you find time in it all to eat, late
night snacks or fast food seems to be the first and only option.
I’ve compiled a list of my favorite items for the fall that help with
living a healthy lifestyle and dealing with all the obstacles of the cold fall
weather, as well as a few beauty and fashion staples for fall 2013.
Lifestyle…
My Lulu Yoga Mat
Yoga has several benefits for the mind, body and soul. I lie out my yoga
mat in my room and do a 10-15 minute routine every morning to wake up the body,
and right before I go to bed, to help relax the mind. Having the mat right
beside my bed means that I don’t have to go anywhere and saves time.
Vega One All-In-One Nutrition Bar
I love these protein
bars, and they are perfect to keep in your purse, car and/or office drawer. I
have found a lot of protein bars to be tasteless and have a powdery texture,
but these could not be any more different. They are full of nutrients and are a
lot easer to carry around than apples and bananas. They also give you the
energy you need to carry out a full day.
Beauty…
Moisturizers
This
time of year can be harsh on your skin and make it extremely dry. Dermalogica
Active Moist is definitely my go-to and one of my favorite moisturizers. The
cream hydrates your skin while still giving it room to breath so it doesn’t
clog the pores.
Lipstick
Having
little time in the morning to get ready means minimal make-up. I love just a
little mascara with a bold lip or even no makeup and a bold lip. Lipstick is
the best friend for a time sensitive lady. It gives the effect of being put
together while taking little time.
Nail
polish
My favourite fall nail collection is actually from a couple years ago. Tom Ford
came out with a very versatile and sophisticated collection in the fall of
2011. It has a very classic red, a natural cream color that goes with anything
and a fall favorite dark violet colour.
Fashion…
Knit
sweaters
There
is nothing like cuddling up with a hot beverage and a cozy knit sweater, even
if it is to write a paper or study for an exam.
Leather
Leather
never seems to go out of style and is a staple that should be in every girls
closet. My favorite leather staples right now are leather leggings, either full
leather or cotton leggings with patches of leather. I’m also loving the new
leather sleeves style that can be found on sweaters and jackets.
Booties
Ankle
booties are another classic for fall. Aldo has an affordable and stylish bootie
that can be dressed up or dressed down depending on the occasion. Toms has a
great pair of booties that are a little more casual and serve as a good
cause.
